This week is spring break. It is that pause in the semester that enables faculty and students to refresh. For many students, this is when they travel home or go and see friends. I learned at lunch yesterday that some are planning a trip to New York to see a show.
While most of the staff continue to be present, the number of student or faculty questions are reduced. So, even here, there is a slightly more gentle pace. Naturally, for some departments – such as the Butterfly House and Facilities – there is very little change; they are as busy as always.
However, for those able to enjoy a slight pause, then this is good and healthy. Patterns of busyness followed by calm are important strategies for coping. I invite everyone who is able to do so to live into this pause.
