Spring Break

Date: March 11, 2026

It is Spring Break at Virginia Theological Seminary, and the campus has entered a quieter rhythm. After the steady pace of classes, reading, and community life, this week provides a welcome pause in the routine. The change of season itself seems to encourage a moment to breathe as spring begins to appear around the campus.

For many, this break is an opportunity to return home, spend time with family, or reconnect with a home parish or diocese. Some of our seniors are using these days to travel for interviews as they take the next steps toward their first calls. In these different ways, the week offers space for reflection, preparation, and renewal.

Such pauses are important in the life of a community devoted to learning and formation. The remainder of the semester moves quickly as we run toward Commencement and the beginning of summer ministries and plans. So enjoy the pause, and we look forward to regathering next week ready for the final stretch of the academic year.

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary and the President of The General Theological Seminary.
