In our continuing series featuring staff members who have served the Seminary over many years, today we celebrate Curtis Prather. As Director of Communications and Marketing, he has been with VTS since 2005.
Curtis is involved in all the communications matters for the Seminary, which includes print, web, and promotion. He recalls his most memorable moment, witnessing the devastating fire in 2010, which destroyed the 1881 chapel. “It was difficult to document professionally because I had such a personal connection with the building.”
Curtis’ proudest moment over the past 16 years has been the work and the announcement and continued work with reparations. He is honored to work on such an important and notable project in the history of the institution. Being a long-term employee, he has developed working relationships and friendships within the community. He says, “Working here you realize that the mission of VTS includes everyone in the community – staff, students and faculty.”
The greatest gift that anyone can give this place is the gift of their time. Time is precious. And for the gift of those days given by Curtis, we are very grateful.
