Today there is a staffing transition in AASL. Elly Hahn, who has been Executive Assistant for Academic Affairs and Student Life, will now be working full-time for Academic Affairs. I want to thank Elly for her amazing work in Student Life over the past 15 months. Among other talents, Elly has a gift for organization, and for developing policies and procedures that make our operations more efficient and sensible. Her work coordinating Commencement this year was outstanding, and this summer she created a weekly newsletter for our incoming students that makes the flood of onboarding information they receive from VTS much easier to manage.
As Elly moves to her new role, we welcome Tamika Martin as Administrative Coordinator for Chapel and Student Life. Tamika began working in the chapel department last September, supporting VTS worship in numerous ways, including by selecting much of the artwork that has graced our liturgies. She describes herself as people-oriented, curious, and eager to learn, and she is excited to support students and life in community in her new role. Her interests include travel, visual arts (especially photography), and sewing. As a military kid, she lived her early life in Belgium and Germany, and her first language was French. I am looking forward to working with Tamika, and I am confident that the community will benefit greatly from all she will bring to Student Life.
