The Winter Spring semester has started with some wintry weather. We have been fortunate so far, but much of the country is now gripped by cold, ice, and—in some places—heavy snow. Conditions can change quickly, and even familiar paths can become hazardous when temperatures drop and ice forms overnight.
It is important that we all make safety a priority. Walk carefully around the campus, especially in shaded or less-traveled areas. Wrap up well, take your time, and don’t do anything reckless or hurried. A few extra minutes are always worth it if they help prevent injury.
A massive thank you to the staff who have stayed overnight—both from Meriwether Godsey and from Facilities—to be here to help us navigate the campus safely. I am very conscious that many have family members they are separated from in this moment. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and I am deeply grateful to you all.
