It was Hurricane Ian (my namesake that created havoc in Florida and elsewhere) that has led to a precipitous drop in temperature and almost constant rain. We are all now reaching for our winter coats and carrying our umbrellas around the campus. I suspect the terrace of 1823 is going to be less popular than the inside.
At the event on Monday night in the St. Martin’s Deanery, two umbrellas were left by the front door (let me know please if you want them back). In a typical year, at least two coats get left in the coat closet in the Deanery. So please keep track of your belongings.
Do please remember the team of facilities who are continuing to work outside. As we walk from one warm building to the next, there are those who need to work outside. So, please, for example, do thank Santo as he delivers packages or Stuart as he clears up tree branches. In fact just say “thank you” to anyone who is trying to carry on doing their job even as the rain falls and cold comes.
