Take your vacation

Date: May 17, 2024

It is about this time every year I remind our Seminary community that a healthy life needs some space away. We need that pause; we need the different rhythm. Even if it is a “staycation” – where the pattern is coffee, reading the newspaper, spending longer on Instagram or whatever – this is better than just carrying on at work. Vacation is good. I will take my four weeks this summer.

This is not just good for you, but it is actually good for the Seminary. The pause is a moment when one recuperates. You are likely to be more effective as an employee if you have a pause for a few weeks.

So, please take your vacation. Pencil in some time. Talk to your supervisor. VTS is generous in our provision: do use it.
