From time to time, one meets a person where one senses that you are in the presence of a remarkable talent. I fell in love with the art of the Terry Lynn when I first encountered his work in 2018. Great art can be endlessly revisited. New elements are spotted as one looks again at the piece. His baptismal painting which hangs in Scott Lounge is an extraordinary celebration of the community nature of baptism. One senses a church receiving a human life into the community of the Body of Christ.
It was truly an honor to gather in Scott Lounge and reflect with the artist on his work. His answers were thoughtful and compelling. The art comes out of his soul; it was extraordinary.
For all those present, I suspect we will remember the evening. We were in the presence of greatness. We will hear more about Terry Lynn in the future.
