I confess it is a little self-preoccupied to have three Dean’s Commentaries on my COVID saga. In the end, it was mild – a fever, two days in bed, and then gradual recovery. Naturally, I regret missing the visit of Archbishop Welby, but I was also really impressed by how others were able to step in and handle the occasion.
I will return to the campus on Tuesday morning; my meetings on Monday will all be on Zoom. By the time I return to the campus, it will be day eleven since testing positive. I am now symptom-free, and therefore the guidance of the Alexandria Health Department is that I am not contagious. I will resume my normal presence in the community.
As we come to the end of the semester, please continue to navigate the COVID world carefully. It is good to avoid it if you can.
The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
