The Dedication and Talent of Duane Lomis

Date: January 28, 2021

Yesterday I was in the Chapel recording the start of the semester service. This is going to be a special service. We are launching the Bicentennial Hymn, which has been composed by Michael Wright. My task was to preach a sermon. It was lovely being back in the space; I appreciated its beauty and charm again. I was deeply aware of how much I am missing worshipping with the community in the Chapel.

However, if you are going to record a sermon, then it truly is a delight to work with Duane Lomis. Duane brings his equipment, pays real attention to the movement of the light, the quality of the sound, and the framing of the picture. He is careful and conscientious. He is a true professional.

In this season, Duane has been working hard for the Seminary. He is highly responsive and efficient. And he appreciates my jokes. So on this day, I wish to say thank you to Duane for all his hard work.

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
