At the beginning of this year, the departments of Communications and Institutional Advancement were combined into one team. This change recognized the key role that communication plays in fundraising and development. The two teams were already working closely together, planning and executing campaigns, so bringing the two departments together felt like a natural next step.
The work of Institutional Advancement is, at its heart, about telling our story well. It is about connecting with friends, alumni, and supporters, and inviting them to be part of the seminary’s mission. It is about communicating the impact of the work VTS does. The messages we share – through appeals, newsletters, social media, events, and personal conversations – shape the way our wider community understands and supports our work.
It has been a privilege to work more closely with the talented Institutional Advancement team, and to start to get to know the alumni and friends of VTS whose generosity makes this work possible.
