Date: March 18, 2025
We settled into Chapel to listen to a fine sermon from Jackson Davey yesterday morning. The fourth quarter had started. Slowly we ease into the journey to the end of the academic year.
The Spring Break pause is good and important because the last semester is often very full and complicated. It is full because, of course, all assignments come towards the end of a course. To start with classes require reading; towards the end, classes require reading and assignments. Then next, we all start anticipating the summer. For the seniors, there is the issue of the future – where am I living, what exactly am I going to do. For other classes, it is CPE or just finding some employment to provide some money.
And of course we are the middle of Lent. Lent is a time for introspection and prayer. Taken together, increased workload, anxiety about summer plans, and a season of self-examination before God, this last quarter can be hard work. So, please keep coming to chapel to listen to even more fine sermons. Allow God to walk beside you during these months and support you into the end of the semester.
