During the next two weeks, Virginia Theological Seminary’s Department of Lifelong Learning will share stories from our department. You will hear about how we live out our mission to connect, nurture, and celebrate communities of faithful practice through grant initiatives, public programs, research and innovation, and collaborations with VTS faculty. Come along and discover how Lifelong Learning walks alongside you during your formation and vocational development!  Â
By necessity, Lifelong Learning staff meetings take place over Zoom. That’s because our team
is spread out over 12 different states and the District of Columbia.  (Two of us do work full-time on campus.) Between Monday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 29, though, the quiet that defines the Addison Academic Center during the summer will be punctured by the voices and activity of the Lifelong Learning team, as the majority of us descend on the VTS campus for an annual in-person gathering. Â
In addition to catching up with each other, our time together will include worship, common meals, listening, as well as group and one-on-one conversations. Most importantly, we’ll celebrate the leadership and vision of Dr. Lisa Kimball, Vice President for Lifelong Learning, who retires at the end of July. Â
