In just under three years, TryTank Experimental Lab has become the little lab that could. We now have 69 experiments on our roster. We have published a bestselling book that explains our framework for trying. And this fall, we’ll be teaching folks in three dioceses in the Church of England and the Church of Scotland how they too can start trying their own experiments.
While all of that is great, church innovation happens whether TryTank is involved or not. In an effort to get more people involved in innovation efforts, we are launching three new initiatives to help make this happen: we are adding experiment managers for specific experiments; we are partnering with others who will enter into partnerships to create Innovation Hubs; and we are soliciting innovative ideas through our new Try Dollars grants.
Over the next three days, I want to use this space to explain these efforts. Tomorrow, we’ll look at the experiment managers. On Thursday, we’ll learn about the Innovation Hubs. On Friday, we’ll explore our Try Dollars program. I hope that in this way, you can be in the know before we announce these initiatives more broadly, and help spread the word to others in the Church.
