Saying goodbye to a teammate is never easy. Especially to one that has been such an essential part of your department and the Seminary as a whole. Cassandra Gravina was only in the finance office for two years, but she made a tremendous impact. She came to the department in the role of budget analyst and was quickly given financial aid and student billing. She became an expert in the education management system and streamlined and automated many of the processes leaving us with a more efficient operation. She was promoted to operations and financial aid officer, and her duties expanded to assisting with recruiting, onboarding, and other administrative tasks. Cassandra also worked diligently on completing her bachelor’s degree at George Mason University while fulfilling these roles. Upon graduation this spring, she decided to take a position outside the Seminary where she could begin her career in the area in which she majored. She has the full support of VTS leadership behind her cheering her on! We are thankful for the impact that Cassandra made while serving VTS in excellence.
Looking forward, we are pleased to announce that Maerose Naduvilekunnel will be joining the Finance Team as our new staff accountant. Maerose comes to VTS with an extensive background in nonprofit accounting, having previously worked for other educational institutions, including Wadhams Hall Seminary College, and most recently serving Marymount University in Arlington. As the staff accountant, Maerose will be responsible for cash management, reconciliations, investment accounting, and other areas of finance. We welcome the knowledge that Maerose will bring and are excited to see the impact she will have on the institution. WELCOME Maerose!
