Date: January 27, 2025
The break from Christmas to the end of January is a delight. However, for many staff and faculty, January has been busy. We have had intensives on the campus. Many of the seniors had the General Ordination Examinations. For many departments, there has been some travel. It has been a busy time.
Yet this morning is the formal start of the Spring Semester. We start with the weather cold and look forward to increasing warmth. The journey of learning restarts today.
I am grateful to all those who do the hard work of arranging this semester. I am especially grateful to the Rev. Dr. Ross Kane, the Rev. Rachelle Sam (welcome back Rachelle), Ms. Caryn Cabaniss, and Ms. Victoria Elie. Thank you everyone.
The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary and the President of The General Theological Seminary
