Yesterday the Board voted the Welcome Center Designs with funding so we can start to create a space that captures our identity and shares that identity with everyone who visits the campus. When you think of visitors to the campus now, they get hints – the banners, the architecture, the art – but the sustained introduction to this institution is missing. Thanks to the vote by the Board, this will be rectified.
The designs were put together by Richard Molinaroli. It is extraordinary work: he is so talented. He had captured the essence of the place: the Board-approved strategic planning keywords were all there – graduate, residential, Episcopal, and global. Our mantra “chapel, class, and lunch” was there. As well as our hard work to tell the complete story of both sin and grace in the displays around the room.
Once the Library moves into its new space, we will start work on the Welcome Center. Slowly, we are putting together a campus ready for our third century of service.
