For fifteen years Monina Pangan has been a member of the Institutional Advancement team, providing administrative support for daily departmental operations and for major events such as Convocation and the VTS dinner at General Convention. Anyone who contacts Monina by phone or email knows that they will receive a quick response and the assistance they need with their request. She always has a smile on her face and in her voice, whenever she sees or speaks with someone.
Monina’s identity as a member of the VTS community goes beyond her employee title and role. Like so many VTS employees, Monina has approached her work as ministry and has truly embodied the values of a Christian community. She works hard—often staying later than required; she sees her work as being important for the whole Seminary, and not just for one person or a group of people; she appreciates and respects others and the work they do.
We now celebrate with Monina as she retires from VTS and prepares for the next chapter in her life, acknowledging the gap she will leave in this community. Most of all, we give thanks for Monina’s service and for the care and concern she has shown to all whose paths she crossed. The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D. Dean and President
