There have been three recent resignations from the Seminary that I want to share with the community. We are grateful to all three of these employees for their service and hard work at the Seminary. First, in Institutional Advancement, Margaret Messenger, has decided to move on. Margaret became a familiar and popular face behind the Welcome Center desk, so we will miss her presence. Second, in Human Resources, both Sadaf Lee and Margarita Pelaez-King have tendered resignation effective October 30. Sadaf and Margarita have been both effective and skilled at providing support to our shared life as employees for many years. All three employees will be invited to offer their own communication with the community. As you all know from the Staff Meeting, we are requiring all employees who provide support for the residential programming to be on the campus three days a week starting October 1, 2020. There are some exceptions to this; some negotiated contracts in 2019 or earlier in the pandemic and were granted remote contracts or are persons who make a request supported by medical documentation for a continuing remote contract. We are fortunate; most employees have their own offices; there are many opportunities for meetings outside; and therefore by the measures put forward by the CDC we can create a low risk environment provided we all continue to physically distance and wear masks. The services supported by HR will be handled in a newly reorganized Finance and Administration department. Please continue to direct all HR related inquiries to either Margarita or Sadaf until further details are announced in the coming weeks. Human Resources will undergo change. For many employees it is a department that is a constant conversation partner. Please be assured that space for such conversations will continue into the future.
