Date: October 8, 2020

Lesley, my wife, and Luke, my son, made the journey at 7:40 p.m. to visit 1823. I learned that the evening had been busy. There were moments when every table on the 1823 terrace was occupied; there was even a moment when there was a wait list for tables. Fortunately, for us, we were shown to a table and really enjoyed the “traditional fish and chips” meal. So we embark on an outside 1823. Being outside is safer; every “bubble” was a minimum of six feet apart and most were further. We used paper menus. It was cashless; and gloves were used for the credit cards. We are determined that this moment of community is a low risk environment. This is a new moment. We have 1823 in a pandemic. We will monitor this moment carefully. I am very grateful to all those who worked so hard to make this moment possible. The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D. Dean and President
