Date: December 22, 2020

I have lost count of the number of Board members who have said to me, “You will miss Katie Glover!” It is true. Shortly after I arrived in 2007, she joined the Dean’s Office. So for almost my entire time at VTS, Katie has been my conversation partner, my confidant, and counsellor. When the endowment crashed in 2008, Katie was at the table. When the Chapel burned in 2010, Katie was there. During her time at the Seminary, she developed an expertise in Human Resources and obtained her Masters degree. We wrote a book together called Community Rules. At a recent Council of Deans meeting, she demonstrated her facilitation skills as she used Open Technology to generate creative thinking. Katie is passionate about the mission of the Seminary. She loves the Church. She loves the Seminary. Her father was on the Faculty; she has fond memories of the place when she was younger. In the old days, when we could gather for morning prayer in Chapel (i.e. February 2020), she was always present. At her core is a deep love of God. She is a person of prayer. As I look back over the years, I am grateful for Katie. In difficult times, Katie has been supportive; in good times, Katie has celebrated with me. For the presence of Katie, I have been deeply grateful. We wish Katie all the best in her next season of service. May God bless you in the months and years ahead. The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D. Dean and President
