Our commitment to justice is rooted in the belief that the dignity of every person is inseparable from the conditions in which they live and work. The Church’s witness calls us not only to reflect, but to action — standing alongside workers and advocating for just and equitable systems that support human flourishing.
It is in this spirit that we are honored to host a Faith and Labor training this Thursday (starting tomorrow) and Friday in partnership with Virginians Organized for Interfaith and Community Engagement (VOICE). VTS is a member of VOICE, and our relationship reflects a shared commitment to community-based organizing, leadership development, and the ongoing work of advancing workers’ justice across our region. Over the course of these two days, we will welcome clergy, organizers, and community leaders from across Virginia for training, relationship-building, and collective discernment. Their presence on our campus is both a gift and an expression of the broader community to which we belong.
I invite members of the VTS community to extend a warm welcome to our guests. You may encounter visitors making their way across campus or navigating to Addison, where the training sessions will take place. Offering a greeting or assisting with directions is a simple but meaningful way to embody our shared commitment to hospitality. We are grateful for the opportunity to host this gathering and to deepen our partnership with VOICE as we continue forming leaders committed to justice, faith, and the common good.
