During a Policy Administrative Meeting, Dr. Mitzi Budde made a plea: “I understand the Dean’s Commentary highlighting the difference between the pre-Thanksgiving campus and the post-Thanksgiving campus,” she observed. “I get that much of the campus is now closed. However, could you please do a Commentary highlighting the many departments that are still working post-Thanksgiving time?” The point was well made. The campus is not now completely closed. Plenty of departments are still very much open. The Library is one of them. It has provided ample opportunities for students to obtain books and space for them to work in the Welcome Center library. The service has continued to be high quality. Even the more limited collection supports both teaching and research. In addition, the recent invitation for library users to write down their pandemic experience for the archives was inspired. We are living through history; let us make sure that there is a record of this moment. I am deeply grateful for the hard working librarians who continue to come to the campus to provide this service. They are a dedicated team. On behalf of the entire campus community, thank you for everything you are doing. The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D. Dean and President
