Date: February 6, 2023
As we begin a new academic term, the Seminary is happy to welcome another visitor to campus for a CACS Communion Sabbatical: Mercy Uwaezuoke Chukwuedo, Ph.D. Dr. Chukwuedo will spend her sabbatical here at VTS on retreat, conducting preliminary research on advocacy for the ordination of women in the Anglican Church of Nigeria and participating in the spiritual and communal life of the Seminary.
Dr. Chukwuedo received her Ph.D. in New Testament from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and is Head of New Testament Studies at Trinity Theological College, Umahia. She brings her theological studies and research to her deep involvement in the life of her parish and the Anglican Diocese of Awgu/Aniri in the Church of Nigeria, serving on a variety of diocesan committees regarding ministerial formation and theological education. She has written a number of journal articles and books, including a book on her presentation topic, Life after Death in Christianity and African Traditional Religion. A Ruse or a Reality?
Dr. Chukwuedo will be giving a presentation on February 14 in LPER at 12:45-1:45 p.m. on the relationship between Christian and African Traditional Religious teachings on the afterlife. For more information and to register, visit the CACS Eventbrite page here.
We are blessed and enriched by Dr. Chukwuedo’s presence in our community – do take the opportunity to greet and welcome her to VTS!
