Welcome GTS to the Campus

Date: April 11, 2022

Careful readers of the Commentary know that conversations with General Theological Seminary continue. At the end of March, we signed an MOU that creates a potential framework for an agreement that we hope to bring to the Board in May. Now we are starting to think about budget, logistics, and organization. So today, we welcome to the campus the Rev. Dr. Michael DeLashmutt, dean and president of GTS, Amy Ruetten, CFO of GTS, and Joshua Bruner, Vice-President for External Affairs at GTS. They have meetings this afternoon and tomorrow morning.

We are still at the “macro level.” Details of courses, fundraising initiatives, student government conversations, relationships between the two libraries, worship schedules, and countless other details will be the subject of discussions later in the process. This entire agreement still needs legal review and votes of both Boards and of the General Convention. We are trying hard not to get ahead of ourselves.

As our guests get meals in the Refectory, please do go and say hello. This is hard, holy work. Do pray for our continuing efforts to vision for the kingdom together.

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President
