Today we are pleased to welcome Paula de Mello Alves to campus as a guest of the Center for Anglican Communion Studies. Paula will participating in and assisting the training of 12 young leaders from Brazil, the 6th and final cohort under a grant from Trinity Church, Wall Street.
Paula is coming to us from Porto Alegre, Brazil where she currently works as the executive secretary in the office of the Southern Diocese of the Episcopal Anglican Church of Brazil. Training to be ordained, she serves as a postulant at five different parishes and missions. Paula has a bachelor’s degree in theology, as well as a law degree. As a member of the Anglican Communion Youth Network (ACYN), she serves as the Americas regional co-chair and global co-convener.
Paula most recently visited VTS last February for the Women Mentoring Women Conference. On this visit, she will be with us for the whole fall semester participating in campus life and worship.
