A very warm welcome to the Evaluation Committee of the Association of Theological Schools. Tonight, we will gather for dinner with our guests. Tomorrow, their work starts in earnest. Their first meeting tomorrow is at 8.30am, and their meetings continue through to 5.30pm. It will be a full day.
The committee is doing important volunteer work. On Tuesday and Wednesday, they collect data; on Thursday, they need a sense of their findings. Typically, evenings are long as text is written and suggestion, reflections, and questions are shared among the team.
Today, we lift up and give thanks to God for our team and their willingness to do this complex work. To all those across the country who volunteer their time in service of the ATS, and to the team visiting VTS this week, we thank you for doing this work.
