Date: March 10, 2021
On Thursday, March 11th at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Kristopher Norris will be discussing his book Witnessing Whiteness: Confronting White Supremacy in the American Church, at a virtual event hosted by the Washington Theological Consortium (WTC). Since the pandemic has restricted our ability to host a formal event to meet with Dr. Norris this semester, this will be a wonderful opportunity to engage with him about his scholarship.
Dr. Norris serves as our Kreitler Visiting Professor of Environmental Ethics. He is a scholar of Christian ethics and political theology. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Virginia in 2017 in Religious Studies. Dr. Norris is an ordained Baptist Minister and holds a Masters’ degrees from Candler School of Theology at Emory University and from Duke Divinity School. Previously he taught ethics and public theology at Wesley Theological Seminary.
His new work investigates the signs of white supremacy in major white theologians and in light of liberation theology and ethics. Let us support Dr. Norris as he leads an enriching discussion on his latest research findings.
RSVP for the event at: https://washtheocon.org/wtc_events/witnessing-whiteness-with-kristopher-norris-vts/. Registration ends at 12:00 p.m. on March 11.
