    This collection consists of two oral history interviews with Dr. Kenyon C. Burke, conducted in 2016. Dr. Burke served in the US Air Force in the Korean War and, over the years, worked as the Associate Executive Director of Employment and Economic Development for the Urban League of Essex County in Newark, New Jersey, the Associate Director of Programs with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), as well as the Community Affairs Director for Planned Parenthood. In these interviews, Dr. Burke discusses growing up Episcopalian, his family and home life, his work, and his lifelong commitment to social justice movements, particularly his tenure as the head of the social justice unit of the National Council of Churches.
