“Launching into Ministry (LiM) supports VTS graduates with trained mentors and seasonal resources in their first years out of seminary. LiM accompanies graduates as they integrate their theological education, particular vocations, and the practice of ministry and spiritual leadership in diverse contexts. We know it is working because LiM alums tell us they are thriving three, four and five years out of seminary.”

Based on the mission of Lifelong Learning at VTS to assess, develop and offer theologically sound and practically applicable programs for the continuing faith and leadership formation of the clergy and laity of The Episcopal Church, Launching into Ministry (LiM) (formerly known as the Second Three Years program) supports VTS graduates in their first years of ministry as they integrate the foundations of classical theological education into the practice of ministry and spiritual leadership.

The program focuses on supporting graduates through a one-on-one mentorship program. Graduates select their mentors with guidance and support from the LiM program staff. Mentors participate in a half-day online training and are supported in their work through resources provided by the LiM team.
