Nicky Burridge

Vice President for Communications

Nicky Burridge is Vice President for Communications. Prior to joining VTS in 2023, she spent 12 years working as a freelance journalist and communications strategist in Hong Kong, including running communications for Ming Hua Theological College, the Anglican seminary in Hong Kong.

Nicky Burridge has a Bachelor of Arts in Theology (First-Class) from the University of Birmingham, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism Studies from the University of Cardiff.

She has nearly 25 years’ experience working as a journalist, public relations specialist and strategic communications advisor. She began her career at the UK’s national newswire service, the Press Association, where she held the post of Personal Finance Correspondent for 12 years. During this time, she wrote an average of eight business, economic and consumer finance articles a day, and often had only minutes in which to produce copy on breaking news stories.

In 2011, she moved to Hong Kong, where she worked as a freelance journalist, editor, public relations and communications consultant. Alongside providing traditional journalism services, such as writing and editing, she also assisted companies and education institutions with public relations work, advertorial, digital content, and social media and communications strategies. In addition, she ran the communications department for Ming Hua Theological College, the Anglican Seminary in Hong Kong, writing, designing, and publishing the College’s eNewsletter, and producing promotional material for its degree programs, and external events.

She has had work published in national newspapers including the Financial Times, The Telegraph and Daily Mail in the United Kingdom, and the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, as well as various specialist and trade publications. She was senior editor of investment publication Benchmark Magazine and editor of @MingHua, the in-house magazine of Ming Hua Theological College.
